The acetone market continued its recent downward price trend, primarily driven by changes in supply and demand: on the one hand, new domestic acetone production capacity continues to expand, with an estimated 510,000 tons of new capacity added in the second half of 2025, increasing self-sufficiency; on the other hand, downstream industries exhibit weak purchasing sentiment, resulting in insufficient demand and putting downward pressure on market prices.

Domestic acetone production capacity continues to expand, with imports reaching 218,200 tons in the first half of 2025. Although the termination of anti-dumping measures in June may increase supplies from South Korea and Taiwan, the release of new domestic capacity has partially offset the impact of imports.
Acetone is mainly used in industries such as isopropanol, MMA, and bisphenol A, but demand growth in these industries has been weak since the second half of 2025.
In the short term, the acetone market is likely to continue its weak adjustment trend due to supply and demand imbalances.
